The right place, at the right time
Phoenix, Az 1979: I meet Jim Watson, co-owner of Peter Tat-2 Studio. He is looking for a female apprentice, places an ad in the paper and I happen to walk in. Not knowing there's an ad in the paper, of course. I begin my apprenticeship here for the next year(s). Jim is the artist that completes my backpiece in 1979. We attend the National Tattoo Convention in Houston, Texas that year. I recieve first runner up for Best Tattooed Female. Way to go Jim, it was his first backpiece too! Spider Webb "extreme photographer", photographs me at that convention, photo appears in his book "Pushing Ink". It was one of the more current books on tattooing at that time. Although carried by major bookstores, it was not allowed to be displayed on shelves. Also at that same convention Bill Tinney, from Easyriders magazine gets a few photos. The photos appear in Easyrider mag that following June. This kiddies, pre-empts "Tattoo" Magazine, which totally spawned a host of other Tattoo publications!
